Pacific Northwest Consortium for Pre- and Postdoctoral Traineeships in Oceans and Human Health

The Pacific Northwest Consortium is a partnership among faculty affiliated with UW’s Pacific Northwest Center for Human Health and Ocean Studies, faculty affiliated with the NOAA/NSF- sponsored Ecology and Oceanography of Harmful Algal Blooms (ECOHAB), scientists from NOAA’s West Coast Center for Oceans and Human Health, managers from Washington Sea Grant and practicum mentors from areas such as shellfish management and water quality control. The PNW Consortium will provide OHH traineeships to support pre- and postdoctoral research in three general areas: shellfish safety (including harmful algal blooms), novel warning systems and model organisms. Candidates who are selected as trainees will receive multidisciplinary training and acquire expertise on issues affecting oceans and human health.
