Focus Areas

Experience and Education

Prior to joining WSG in 2007 Raechel worked as a research scientist (Microscale Plankton Ecology), university educator and program manager. She is a native of Australia, with a doctorate in Biological Oceanography from Flinders University, Adelaide. Her areas of specific interest are climate change impacts, harmful algal blooms and research dissemination.

Current Activities

  1. Program manage WSG-funded research
  2. Administer WSG education program
  3. Oversee WSG contribution to West Coast Regional Research and Information Plan
  4. Co-teach UW course, Ocean102 “The Changing Oceans”
